The option will not work if you have more than two faces selected. With

Bridge Faces, you get better results by using parallel faces. That is a

way to avoid distorted shapes from the connected geometry.

3.5 Separating and joining models

In the previous section, we learned how to connect elements from a

model with the F key and the Bridge Faces. What if we want to separate

models instead of connecting them?

To separate parts of a model in Blender, use the P key. After pressing

the P key, a small menu appears with options. It is possible to separate

parts by selection, materials, and loose parts.

For instance, after pressing the P key and choosing "Selection," Blender

creates a new object based on any selected vertices, edges, or faces.
